1-1 Self Defence & Self Awareness Skills

We provide customised 1-1 self-defence classes that cater to your specific needs and goals. Our training focuses not only on the techniques but also on situational awareness, avoidance tactics, and developing your confidence to protect yourself. By increasing your self-awareness, you can recognise potential threats and respond effectively to ensure your safety.

Our self-defence and awareness training can enhance your physical fitness, coordination, overall health, and equip you with the skills and confidence to stay safe and secure in your daily life.

Striking and Grappling Techniques

This involves using your hands, feet, elbows, and knees to strike an attacker.  Some examples include punches, kicks, and knee strikes.  It also involves using techniques such as throws, joint locks, and chokes to control and subdue an attacker.

Weapon Defence Techniques

This involves learning how to defend yourself against an attacker who is using a weapon.

Awareness

Developing self-awareness can help you stay alert and protect yourself in a variety of situations.  This includes being aware of your surroundings, potential threats, body language, verbal communication, and intuition.  By being mindful of these factors, you can avoid dangerous situations and respond quickly if necessary.

Where is the Be A Better You | B.A.B.Y. gym?

We’re excited to offer in-house training at Reds Gym, Denton Ln, Chadderton, Oldham OL9 8PU.

We believe that our location at Reds Gym is the perfect place to train, with state of the art equipment and expert trainers who are dedicated to helping you reach your full potential.

What times are the camps and how many are there per week?

Currently, we only offer two morning camp training sessions; one at 6am and the other at 9am.

What are the group sessions like at B.A.B.Y?

We offer small, manageable group training sessions that are overseen by John, ensuring that you receive personalised attention and support throughout your fitness journey.

Each session is unique and we use a variety of training systems to keep things interesting and challenging.

What if I can’t do the mornings?

If you’re unable to attend in person, we also offer virtual training sessions that you can complete in your own gym, although these are not recommended for home workouts unless you have a gym at home.

How much does it cost?

What if I can’t attend all the sessions?

We understand that everyone has a busy schedule and it can be difficult to commit to attending every gym session.  That’s why we only require a minimum commitment of two sessions per week. This allows you to fit your fitness routine around your other commitments and still make progress towards your goals.

What if I miss a lot of sessions in a month?

If you miss a lot of sessions in a month, unfortunately, you will need to start from the beginning of the programme.  We understand that life can be unpredictable and sometimes you may need to miss a session.  If this happens, we encourage you to make up for the missed session as soon as possible to ensure you stay on track with your progress.  Remember, making excuses and asking “what if” can set you up for failure.  Instead, focus on what you can do and commit to your fitness journey.
